In one of the first nudist films, a fictional reporter, James Mack, is tasked by his newspaper chief to write an article about the “cult” of nudism by going to a nudist camp. He meets a Dr. King, an expert on nudism, and his young assistant Prudence Kent. They bring him to Elysian Fields, a nudist camp just over 70 miles from Los Angeles (which was opened in real life that same year). Mack later becomes enamored with Prudence as they both lose their clothes. He also loses his preconceptions about nudism. According to LA Weekly, “Temporary bans were placed on the film in Los Angeles and other American cities. Elysia caused such a stir in Puerto Rico that it was banned in the entire country.”
Film supervised by the camp founder and director Hobart Glassey. Cinematography by Wm. Sullivan.
